    Hello,

The affliate user role not set. Use case as below,

    1: Register a new user
2: login as the new user
    3: Apply affliate

There is no affliate role added to the user, only role is subscriber.

Hi, can you try the following. Disable all other plugins except this one. Then register a new affiliate and check the affiliates role. Let me know what happens.

    Thank you

I disabled all other plugins and test again, and the problem is still there.

I just created another affiliate just to confirm that it does work with the latest version of WP Affiliate Manager plugin and WordPress 4.8.3. It did create the affiliate role for the new user. Do you have any other addons added to WP Affiliate Manage plugin?

If you don’t, can you disable and delete the plugin, then install a fresh copy. Then carry out another test.

    Let me know what happens.

    Thank you

After creating a new user, then I login it, and then I go to affliate register page (THe page include [AffiliatesRegister]), after applying affliate then I go to wp admin dashboard to check the user roles

Hi, are you registering the user under WP Users or are you registering the new user under affiliate registration page?

    Because it support username.

if registering the new user under affiliate registration page, it won’t let you decide username, it will use the email address as the username. For example, when people post in forum, it will show the username.

Hi, unfortunately that is how this plugin works. When a member registers under WP Affiliate it also creates the affiliate role under WP Users.

Can you upgrade it as this:

When register a new affliate, check if it is the current logged in user to apply it. if current user apply affliate then don’t create WP user but simply add Affliate Role to the current logined WP user.

@gamingtips, The plugin doesn’t require the “affiliate” role on an affiliate in order to function properly. It’s just for display purpose so an administrator can quickly identify the affiliates from the Users menu. However, forcing it to apply a role to an existing account might cause issues with other e-commerce/membership plugins that rely on it.
