ParticipantI am having an issue with the emails that are sent when a new affiliate is approved.
1) The subject comes as “Affiliate application for” – I assume there is a field that is supposed to plug in the business name, but it is not coming up.
2) Under Affiliates > Settings > Messaging> application approved email, the text shows as:“Your affiliate account for the Romantic Recollections Affiliate Program has been approved!
Username: {affusername}
Password: {affpassword}
Login URL: {affloginurl}Please log into your account to get referral code.”
However, the actual email that arrives shows:
“New affiliate registration for : has been approved!
Log into the site with your existing account and get started.”
This wording is not located anywhere that I can find, and definitely doesn’t match the Messaging settings. Notice, there is also a blank, again, where the business name should be filled in.
I’ve disabled all plugins except Woocommerce and this still happens. I have changed the other messages in the Messaging tab, and they work without a problem.
Thanks for your help.

ModeratorHi, do you know if this message is coming from WooCommerce plugin? Can you check this in your WooCommerce settings?
Thank you

ParticipantI don’t see anything in Woocommerce about affiliates, and this is the only plugin I’ve tried. I’d be happy to look at more settings if you can point me in a direction.
Since the email says specifically “new affiliate registration” and the subject line is identical to the application received subject line that does match the plugin settings, it seems like this is on your side.

ModeratorDo you have the latest version of the plugin installed?
I have also submitted a message to the developers.
Thank you

ParticipantYep. I downloaded it yesterday, and deleted and downloaded again today.
Thank you. I look forward to hearing back.

Keymaster@DHendrick, This value comes from the wp-options table (retrieved with this query: get_option(‘blogname’)) and is saved in the general settings of your site (Settings > General > Site Title). Is that field empty on your site?
You are getting a different message because you signed up for an affiliate account while logged-in as a WordPress user. When you already have a WordPress account the plugin can’t create a new one (it simply links it to the affiliate account).

ParticipantSo if they are already a user (say an existing customer) when they sign up, they get a different approval email than the application approved email?
Where can I edit that email? Because what is sent looks extremely unprofessional. I’d like to include links and info about how they can actually access the Affiliate area. Thank you.

ParticipantThanks. I think I finally found part of the text of the offending email. It still doesn’t look like I want it to look, but it’s good enough for now.
Having this secondary email copy in the Settings area so it can be easily edited would be extremely helpful. Most of the people asking to be affiliates are current customers, so they won’t be getting the email that’s sent when a new account is created. Having the email that goes to existing accounts be able to be updated and use HTML easily would be ideal.
