    I have affiliates signing up and they are not setting a password at the sign-up the stage and then they are approved and still dont have login password.
    They have to reset their password to log in.

    any ideas on when the password is set for the new affiliate sign-ups and why I am missing that on my sign up flow.

    Hi, Do you have the debug option enabled in the affiliates manager settings? If not, please enable debug and do a test signup afterwards so we can check the log file.

    @raw, Thanks. It looks like emails are being sent by WordPress without any error. So the issue lies in your web server. Please install an SMTP plugin to send the email and see how it goes.

    Hi,
    Is it an email sending issue? The problem is that new affiliate sign-ups are not asked to set a password. so once they are approved they can not log in. At what stage in your usual sign up is a new affiliate asked to set a password for their account?

    @raw, When an affiliate signs up, a WordPress user account is automatically created. That means the password is automatically created by WordPress and sent via email. However, once they log in to their dashboard they will be able to change it.

    I have the same problem when “Settings / General / Automatically approve a new affiliate” is set to true.

    The registered user does not receive the following contents of the “affiliate_application_approved_email” email, giving them their username, password and login url as per:

    Your affiliate account for {blogname} has been approved!

    Username: {affusername}
    Password: {affpassword}
    Login URL: {affloginurl}

    Please log into your account to get referral code.

    NOTE: The above gets sent if there is manual admin approval of account.

    Instead the registered user gets the following email content sent to them:

    New affiliate registration for Blah Site: has been approved!

    Log into the site with your existing account and get started.

    The log files appear to be OK as per the below:

    [03/19/2018 10:36 AM] - SUCCESS : Affiliate Application for Blah Site
    [03/19/2018 10:36 AM] - SUCCESS : Sending an email to [email protected]
    [03/19/2018 10:36 AM] - SUCCESS : Email was sent successfully by WordPress
    [03/19/2018 10:36 AM] - SUCCESS : New Affiliate Registration
    [03/19/2018 10:36 AM] - SUCCESS : Sending an email to [email protected]
    [03/19/2018 10:36 AM] - SUCCESS : Email was sent successfully by WordPress

    Please also note that I do not understand your last answer on this thread. For me, this does not help/resolve the problem.

    Can it be, that the “Automatically approve a new affiliate” email is not setup correctly? It certainly does not appear to be the “affiliate_application_approved_email” that is sent when automatic approval is selected.

    Thanks in advance for help on this…

    @Mathew, this is happening because you are trying to create an affiliate account when you are logged in as a WordPress user. There is no need to create new credentials for an existing WordPress user account.

    @Shadow Labs – thank you. Yes, I tried another user and received the credentials as expected.
