[Support request] Affiliate to Customer works, but Customer to Affiliate doesn't

IF a person signs up as an affiliate first, it works perfectly – they become both a customer & an affiliate. But if they sign up as a customer first, I can’t figure out to make their affiliate profile active . . . it won’t accept the same password for the Affiliate Login page . . . yes I do have the Add-on too. I also had a warning that the Add-on may not work as it’s untested with my WP version.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
