I am testing the plugin and noticed in the Click Tracking panel that only the affiliate link that the user initially clicked is tracked. After that, if the user clicks to another page, the referring URL is blank.
This happens whether the browser is in incognito / private mode or not. I notice that the affiliate id parameter is briefly displayed in the url but then disappears.

I am wondering if this is normal or not? I ask because I want to be able to track conversions even if the user clicks around on the site before purchasing.

    Thanks!

I should clarify that the parameter wpam_id briefly flashes in the browser’s URL pane of the user who followed the affiliate link when they click away from the page they landed on.

From the docs it looks like a cookie is set and that is how the user’s clicks are tracked from then on.

But it would still be nice to see in the backend where the user clicked. This would help resolve any discrepancies if the affiliates ever complain that their sales aren’t being tabulated. (As an aside it would also be nice to be able to sort by affiliate ID in the Click Tracking table.)

Another question I have regarding tracking users is what counts as a conversion? Do I need an add-on for a particular payment provider to track conversions?

    Thanks!

@cousinisaac, Currently our plugin can only reward a commission if you use one of our supported integration options: https://wpaffiliatemanager.com/documentation/

Thanks for the quick reply. This is a great plugin and I will purchase the gravity forms stripe add-on shortly.

So yes, now that I have tested with the standard stripe plugin I see the bounties being tabulated even when the user clicks around from one page to another. Awesome.

BUT, that doesn’t answer my initial questions.

Why are some of the URLs in the click tracking panel blank? Is that some issue with my setup or a known limitation?

I would find this panel quite useful if
    1. It kept track of all the urls a user who followed an affiliate link clicked on.
    2. I could filter and sort by affiliate ID and Users to see be able to resolve any potential disagreements with affiliates over payouts.

    Thanks again!

@cousinisaac, The Referring URL can only shown if it’s available to the plugin via the global $_SERVER variable. This requires that the visitor’s browser sends an HTTP referer header when they follow a link to come to your site. It may not always be present.
