Change Affiliate link to the users name instead of a number

Is it possible to change the affiliate link from http://mywebsite.com/?wpam_id=1 to http://mywebsite.com/username

I have a paid BuddyPress membership site and I’d like to make it easy for users to refer friends and family without the need for a specialize referral link.

For example, when a user tells his friend about our site, it would be awesome if the user could simply send a link to his user profile. http://mywebsite.com/billsmith

When the new visitor arrives at http://mywebsite.com/billsmith and signs up, Bill Smith would receive the affiliate commission.

If this is not possible today, would you please consider making it a premium add-on for this plugin?
