When I set a bounty rate in settings, Does the system prevent the rate from being lowered for affiliates that registered before it was lowered? I tried to lower the rate in a test affiliate account to be less than the standard rate and it will not adjust it for that affiliate. I also noticed that the rate for that test affiliate is higher than the adjusted rate I have set it at now.
Are there rate controls preventing commission rates being lowered post-registration as protection for the affiliate?

@mjke30, If you change the commission rate/amount in the settings it will only apply to newly registered affiliates (not the existing ones). If you need to you adjust the commission rate/amount of an existing affiliate you can do so by editing their profile.

Thank you for your reply. That’s good to know. I made a couple test affiliate accounts to learn the system. I did try to adjust the commission rate in one of these affiliate’s account profile. After I hit “save” in the profile, it seemed to save it fine. Then on the front side affiliate dashboard, it still showed the old commission rate. Then when I go back into the profile from the back end side it shows the old rate as if it had not saved it. Perhaps new sales need to be processed for the new rate to show?
For us, we will be launching our affiliate program with one affiliate, so, for now, this is not a big issue. We just hope to have commission tiers as each affiliate performs well. Thank you.

@mjke30, Do you have any caching plugin on the site? If there is no error the updated value should be saved into the database.

Ah! Brilliant thought. I’ll play with the caching and see if that helps. Thank You !

    Hi there!
I’ve tried to use the suggestions. I cleared my cache and still, in the affiliate’s profile, the old commission rates are reverting back to the amount originally set up. Not the new one entered and saved. Perhaps commissions can not be changed if there are commissions to be paid? Can it only be altered if the payable amount is zero?
This particular affiliate is a test account I set up to get familiar with the system. So the existing commissions are test orders. Thank you!

As an update, Being that the affiliate is a test account, I went into the overall commissions and deleted the test order commissions. I did this to see if having a zero payable balance will allow the new rate to stick. Unfortunately, it did not. Thank you

Update – Solved issue. My test account did not have a valid PayPal email entered and this prevented rate changes from being saved. Once the email was entered, the bounty rate was allowed to be saved.
