How to adjust image / banner size

I can’t seem to figure out how to create different sized banners. They all come out as thumbnails?
Help! lol

Hi, you should be able to select any image from your media library. How did you upload the banner image?

Hi, The usual way, I just dropped it into the upload new media box. Every image I bring in from the library is a thumbnail, I need all kinds of different sizes. All the images with words are cut off. seems I can only get 1 size and if what doesn’t fit in the little area gets cropped off.
