I am trying to create additional links for individual products, but it seems that I am stuck with the URL of my original link as the starting point. So it is reading …..shop/ and I need it to read …..product/ so that I can add the individual product URL’s on the end of it. Does anyone please have any idea how I can do this? Because there’s no point in saying that we can create as many links as we like if we can’t actually choose the URL to do this with! Any help much appreciated – thank you!

Thanks. But unfortunately this doesn’t help me – because my default URL is http://www.yonieggs.co.za/shop and the one that will allow affiliates to point links to individual products start with http://www.yonieggs.co.za/product (and then the individual product link on the end of this). I feel it is important to have a URL pointing to the general “shop” page – but it is a shame I can’t alter this to point additional creatives to individual products as well. In other words, additional settings for additional URL’s would be handy. Any chance of introducing these please? Please advise… Thank you!

Thanks – but the same issue still exists! The starting/default URL is http://www.yonieggs.co.za/shop/. This takes customers directly to the whole shop – so I want to keep this as the default option. But if my affiliates wish to direct customers to individual products, then the URL of these products (as permanently set by my WordPress site as permalinks – only the end of the extension can be changed) is http://www.yonieggs.co.za/product/ WP Affiliate Manager only allows one default URL – with extensions added on to the end of that. So – I can choose /shop or /product. But not both. I hope you can understand my issue now. It would just be nice to be able to use 2 different URL’s to create different creatives – but this plugin does not give me that option unfortunately – as I cannot change the first part of the URL – it’s either /shop or /product. Perhaps something for you guys to consider in future?? Thanks!

Ah, ok, that might work! Thank you! I am going to run another test sale now and see how I get on. Can you just please also confirm – should I receive an email notification that a sale has come in via an affiliate? I can certainly see that it has if I check in the debug file – but that seems like a very clunky way to go around things. I would have expected an email notification to be sent. Am I right? Because in the test sale i ran earlier, no notification was received. So if you could please just let me know that too that would be great ๐Ÿ™‚ Am going to run another test with one of my new links now. Thanks!

Hi, the link certainly worked and connected the sale to the affiliate. But 2 weird things here – first of all, no order was sent to me (as the owner of the site) until I had marked the sale as “completed”. It is usually automatic unless the person has paid using a credit card (which delays payment processing for 2 days in South Africa – where I live – for some bizarre reason).
Secondly, still no notification of this being an affiliate sale with commission due. Only in the debug file. Which surely can’t be right??
Could you help me here please? Thanks very much!

    Hi,

first of all, no order was sent to me (as the owner of the site) until I had marked the sale as โ€œcompletedโ€.

That is correct. Until the sale is marked as complete, no order will be sent.

(which delays payment processing for 2 days in South Africa โ€“ where I live โ€“ for some bizarre reason).

Unfortunately we have no control over this.

Secondly, still no notification of this being an affiliate sale with commission due.

Did you check your spam box? Sometimes e-mails tend to land in the spam box in your e-mail client.

    Kind regards

    Hi there,

No – the order comes immediately it is placed. The steps to completing the order – “processing” and “complete” are instigated by me as the order progresses. As I say the only time an order doesn’t come through is when I use the South African credit card processing service (I’m not blaming you for this or expecting you to find a solution – I was just letting you know that this is what happens – gotta love doing business in South Africa!) – and in that case I just get a notification that a payment has been made – so once I have verified that that is the case, then the order is sent to me. If no notification were sent until the order was “complete”, then I wouldn’t even know an order had been received! Unless I was constantly checking the backend of my WooCommerce site – which is a rather inconvenient way of doing things.

But I am definitely not receiving any notification of the test sale being an affiliate sale – in any of my mailboxes. So something is definitely not working correctly. Please can you help me with this? Because obviously it is very important that I am able to pick these up.

    Thank you.

Thanks very much, I appreciate that. Shadow Labs suggested I could request notifications of affiliate sales to be sent to me by going into the “Commissions” menu – but this absolutely isn’t the case – there is no option for this there. So I await your developers’ comments with interest.

    Thanks!

Hello again, just further to this – Shadow Labs has confirmed that there is NO notification sent to the owner/admin of the site when an affiliate sale is made. Which seems more than a little bizarre! Not sure how we are supposed to know when commission is payable then?? Shadow Labs also mentioned that notification would only be sent to the affiliate if this option was selected – but there is absolutely no option anywhere in this plugin where we can choose that. This seems like a massive oversight on behalf of the developers of this plugin – it’s almost beyond belief actually! So I would love them to please get back to me and explain how this program tracks affiliate commissions and lets both the site admin and the affiliate know when an affiliate sale has been made – which is rather important information! Thanks very much for your continuing help with this – I’m just super-concerned now that I have missed paying many affiliate commissions as I have no way of knowing which sales came via them. Please advise soonest – I feel this is vital to sort out! I really don’t want to have to change affiliate programs at this stage – but knowing when an affiliate sale has been made is obviously non-negotiable for an affiliate plugin. How do any other users manage this I wonder?? Looking forward to your reply – thank you!
