    Hello!

I installed and setup the plugin a few months ago and recently had my first affiliate start promoting products. But the statistics don’t make sense – since launching her first links, my affiliate has generated 803 impressions and 3148 visits to my site – Unless visitors are clicking the same link 5 times, how can you have more visits than impressions!?

And to make matters more confusing, your support article for tracking impressions shows an example with 0 impressions and 1 visits.

How to Track Impressions of Affiliate Ads

Is there a bug in the system? What can I do to receive and provide more accurate data?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Mark

Hi, It does not make sense. The plugin uniquely tracks each click. The same user can click multiple times but it will be counted as one visit (until the cookie expires). Have you tried with impression tracking disabled?

    Hey Shadow Labs,

Thanks for responding. I tried turning off the impression tracking as you recommended but when doing so, the statistics disappear all together. Both visits and impression data is gone. When I turn it Impression tracking back on, the data returns and is the same as before.

Could this be an issue caused by the links not being setup correctly on the affiliates end?

It’s possible. But you can also test it by registering as an affiliate (on your site) and using the link generated for you.
