ParticipantHi,
I intend to use your plugin in combination with the S2Member membership plugin and I know you have an integration for that.
However, I offer my members a free test month and I obviously don’t want to pay affiliates for that test month but only after people actually started paying for their memberships (or maybe even only after they’ve been a member for 2-3 months).
Is that possible and if so how do I do that?
thanks

KeymasterThe plugin only gives commission after the member pays for their membership. So it doesn’t generate any commission for free test membership.
Also, you decided when you payout your affiliates. Most merchants will delay the payment of any commissions by about a month. So you will pay all the commissions from January in the month of March (or whatever else that works for you). You make this clear to your affiliates terms and conditions. So your affiliates will know about it when they sign up.

ParticipantThanks for the quick answer.
Just to be clear, here is what I want to happen:
Someone signs up through an affiliate link for an s2member account to take my free course (no payments or even checkout involved). Then they are offered a free month in my paid membership program. To do so they go through Paypal checkout but don’t get charged for the first 30 days. After these 30 days they get charged for the first time. Only if they get to this stage (or maybe even if they get charged the second time) do I want my affiliate to get paid.
Questions:
– If I understood your answer correctly, the plugin will register a sale only after the referred customer actually paid for the first time (so in my case after the free course and the free month in my membership program). Or does it go by the time the customer went through checkout for the first time (even though they don’t actually pay that first time since they get a free month)?
– Is there a plugin setting for when I want to pay out my affiliates? Or do I just mention it in the Terms of Service and maybe in my sign up page copy?
– I want to pay affiliates a fixed amount per sale and I selected that option in the plugin settings. But I don’t understand where to specify the amount I want to pay (the bounty).
I only see an option to set the bounty for % of sales.– If I select percentage of sales, does that only count for that first months’ payment? Or also for every following month as long as the referred customer stays on?
Thanks

KeymasterWhenever a payment is charged S2Member notifies the Affiliates Manager plugin. Affiliates manager receives the notification and awards commission to the affiliate who referred it. It can be a once off payment or recurring payment notification (affiliates manager doesn’t really need to know what type of payment it is).

– It’s upto you when you want to pay the affiliates
I want to pay affiliates a fixed amount per sale and I selected that option in the plugin settings. But I don’t understand where to specify the amount I want to pay (the bounty).
– There is a an option to select “Fixed Amount per sale” in the settings (Bounty Type). You can specify the amount in the “Bounty Rate (% of Sale)” field (Example: 25).

ParticipantThank you for your answers.
However, I’m still unclear on some points.
– My members pay a monthly recurring fee. Do my affiliates get awarded an affiliate commission just once or every month?
– If I can’t set a time for when I want to do commission payouts (i.e. a month after the commissions has been awarded), how do I know which affiliate payments to include in my mass payment? I imagine that the mass payment option simply includes all affiliate sales made at that moment. So that includes the ones mad a month ago and also the ones that just happened 5 minutes ago.
Do I have to manually review each affiliate sale and then only include the ones that have been awarded more than 30 days ago?
thanks

KeymasterIf S2Member receives payment notification for a recurring/rebill charge, Affiliates Manager will also award commission for it. Whenever you do a payout, the balance for that affiliate goes to zero. That means you will only pay the outstanding amount.
