first of all, no order was sent to me (as the owner of the site) until I had marked the sale as “completed”.
That is correct. Until the sale is marked as complete, no order will be sent.
(which delays payment processing for 2 days in South Africa – where I live – for some bizarre reason).
Unfortunately we have no control over this.
Secondly, still no notification of this being an affiliate sale with commission due.
Did you check your spam box? Sometimes e-mails tend to land in the spam box in your e-mail client.

ModeratorHi, do you have any cache plugin installed? If you do, have you excluded the registration page from being cached?

ModeratorHi, you might have a conflict with one of your other plugins. Can you carry out the following test. Deactivate all of your other plugins then carry out a test. If this works for you then you know there is a conflict with another plugin.

if the cookie has expired (for example 2 months after the first registration) WP Affiliate manager does not it detects and does not generate a commission for the new membership plan,

No, currently that is not possible.
